Leather Jewelry...
Leather jewelry can last a long time if properly maintained, but it is not waterproof and I cannot guarantee your jewelry if you choose to wear it when bathing, swimming or while working out. Although getting it wet occasionally won't immediately damage it, keep in mind that repeated exposure to water and chemicals (i.e. soap, chlorine, saltwater, sweat etc.) will contribute to its deterioration. Please avoid the leather coming into contact with oil, fragrances, aerosols, etc. as they may lead to discoloration and damage as well.
If you are someone who prefers to never remove your jewelry, I do not recommend leather.
Beaded Gemstone Designs…
Running your beaded jewelry through a microfiber cloth is all that is generally needed to keep it clean and polished.
Turquoise Stones...
Turquoise is porous, so chemicals can damage it. Use only pure water and a soft cloth to wipe it clean, and you can clean your turquoise frequently without causing damage. The natural oil of your skin is good for turquoise, and it will naturally polish it when you wear it. If it is set in silver, wearing if often will also keep the silver from tarnishing. Silver polish will damage the surface of turquoise.
Don't store turquoise with harder gemstones or other materials that might rub against it and cause damage. Turquoise can fade in sunlight, excessive sweat, chlorine bleach and dishwater.
Silver Jewelry…
I give most of my silver jewelry a rustic, oxidized finish. Please do not put your oxidized jewelry in a tarnish remover solution as it will remove the oxidation (and could damage stones). If you notice some tarnish you can use a clean, unused scrubbing pad (i.e. a Scotchbrite pad) to lightly “sand” it off. This will also preserve the “brushed silver” appearance.
The proper way to put on a cuff bracelet...
Cuff bracelets are a great choice because the opening allows for a good fit on different size wrists, but it's important to know how to put it on properly! You don't want to repeatedly bend the silver by opening and closing your bracelet. This causes something called "work hardening", and over time will make the metal brittle and could cause it to snap at the stressed areas. To avoid this, find the soft part on the inside of your forearm (usually 2-3 inches up from your wrist bone), hold the cuff like a "C" and press the bottom part of the "C" into that soft area and roll the cuff around your wrist. From there you can adjust the cuff slightly to your desired fit. If you remove the cuff the same way you put it on, you shouldn't have to adjust again.
Warranty…
I offer a 90 day warranty for any item that is deemed defective. I will repair or replace any item in that time frame under normal wear. This does not include leather designs damaged by water.
